I would also suggest monetary help. As a former Army logistician, I was in
Florida for Hurricane Andrew relief. The American public was very generous
and sent tons of material. Unfortunately, there was not enough storage for
all the donated items (at least in the first few weeks). The priority was
setting up tents to house the refugees and soldiers who were working with the
relief effort. Some of the donated items ended in huge piles, in the open,
and was ruined from rain. It all had to be buried. I remember being appalled
by the waste.
