[LM_NET] TARGET:Looking for a book title from the 1960's

Good Morning,

Does anyone remember a picture book from the late 50's or the 60's about a dog - - 
I think a black poodle - - who gets awarded a dish of ice cream for doing something 
good, perhaps saving a child?
