Hi all,
I am writing a paper for my graduate class on mythology and folklore. It is
comparing the original fairy tale to subsequent revisions - republications
of the same story. I have to find the tale as close to the original as I
possible can. The tale I chose was Puss in Boots. So far the oldest I have been
able to 'get my hands on' is from 1841. I called the NYPL the Donnell has
an extensive children's collection but only goes back to mid 19th century.
The librarian there told me that some professional journals may have a copy of
the original tale in an article. I am searching some databases that I am
able to access but I am not having much success. does anyone have any
suggestions on what search terms I should use, or where else I may be able to find
what I need. Thank you for your time and effort.
