And I just keep adding to this discussion....

Beth is right....the consistency between libraries is why we use the system we use. 
Being able to find materials using the same system, regardless of what library we 
enter, is not only efficient, it is effective. We struggle for a uniform code in 
cataloging and for systems that work together.  The materials on the shelves should 
be easy to locate and efficiently organized from library to library.

Otherwise, if we continue to make changes, organize, re-organize, divide, separate, 
and completely re-arrange everything, we might as well call our libraries....
....the Internet!!
