Now, the recent comments have me thinking of the insanity that would occur when we
(as librarians) decide that we want to help our students by arranging the library
by genre (rather than alphabetical fiction)---but our teachers want the materials
grouped by reading level (according to the electronic reading program being used!)
Can you imagine how insane this becomes when we start to listen (and watch) those
outside of our profession try to do (or tell us how to do) our jobs "better" than
what we can now?
We might as well learn how to roller skate (again) because we'll be "moving across
the floor" to gather books if we start sorting things like this....
....but imagine what this could do for our "Librarian Image!"
Just joking, guys....
