I've had a request for a hit on my request for Empathy Books for 5th
graders, so here it is.

I've read "Granny Torrelli Makes Soup" by Sharon Creech to 5th grade. I
read it in two class periods, about 40 minutes each. A very sweet story
about friendship and seeing things through someone else's eyes. I think
empathy applies.
Our counselor used to read The Hundred Dresses by Estes. for this theme.
Also--two real tear jerkers--Mick Harte was here
and Faithful Elephants.
