I've worked mostly as a children's librarian in public
libraries. 22 years! I'm getting saturated with
storytime, etc. There's an opening for a high school
librarian/media specialist in my town. I've already
done a year as a media specialist in the elementary
school and it wasn't my cup of tea.
Would anyone take the time to give me some idea of
"The day in the life of a high school media
specialist" The ups and downs, the nitty gritty, what
it takes, etc. My niece and nephew (who I've had a
hand in raising) are now teenagers and their struggles
and angst touch me deeply....I feel a bit drawn to
working with this age (I've had some programs in my
public library for middle schoolers and I've loved
working with them).
I know that's asking a lot.....I DO have some idea, of
course.....and I realize every library is
different.....but I would love to have something
"core" in my mind to ask my gut to make a decision.
THANKS, Sharon
