I agree with you, and also find that by saving a copy of everything I send
to a parent (Outlook Express and Mac's "Mail" program both allow it to be
done automatically) it can avoid the "But you said...." trap that some
parents use to manipulate a situation. I can pull up their message, and my
reply anytime I need to, in order to verify EXACTLY what I did say.
