My boss said she talked with a district that purchased NetTrekker/Pinpoint
combination, then blocked access to Google. It forced the students to use
the library resources first (print and paid databases).
(I read in the archives about NetTrekker, and I'm wondering who their
competition is.)
This was a novel idea to me, as I can't imagine my life without Google; but
then, I can't imagine my life without Ebsco's Professional Resources
database either!
So here's my question. How would this impact your library, if the students
couldn't just go to a search engine like Google or Yahooligans. What if they
had to ask you instead of Ask Jeeves?
Thanks
