Just wanted to give anyone who is interested an update on our recent author visit
with well-known author, Alex Flinn. It was great!
Alex came to Albany on Wednesday night and we were fortunate enough to be able to
take her out to dinner at a local restaurant with some colleagues. A nice intimate
gathering - food and company were all good. We were lucky too in that Alex's
friend Patrice Kindl (an author whose name will ring a bell with some of you) was
also able to attend our dinner.
The next day Alex participated on three separate occasions with our students. The
first was a writer's workshop for some creative writing students. The second was a
luncheon with members of our high school's English Club and College Writing Class
and then spoke to them about writing and her books. The third was for a Publishing
Class and for a group who had all read Breathing Underwater together. She was also
willing to sign copies of her books for all of us.
Overall it was a wonderful experience especially for our first author visit and we
highly recommend her as a visiting author. If you have any questions - feel free

The book to read is not the one which thinks for you,
but the one which makes you think.
