This is an excellent overview of the issues involved in the particular
challenge, with good examples of what is happening nationwide. Articles
like this need to be in more papers.
And one of the first articles I've read about book banning / challenges
that actually puts some focus on the issues in the challenge. Many
reports just say 'bad language' or such, quotes the challenger, and
leaves out the context of the story that is being related. This reporter
did some serious research and interviewing to put together a great article.
Good quotes from public, author, students, and school officials.
I'm sending Holly Hollman, the reporter, a thank you for taking the time
and making the effort to really cover the issues.
