Once again I seek your experience...
Can anyone recommend a sensitive, handheld mike or the specifications I should look
for?
I have invested in purchasing an impressive podium with a sound system for my
school. However, the dynamic mike is unidirectional. This does not present a
problem with adult speakers who understand how to adjust the mike to pick up their
voices (after some practice) but there is a major problem when we have students
reading at the mike (even when I've practiced with them). Their varying vocal
projections, their varying heights as well as their difficulty to correctly adjust
the mike to each individual make it hard for them to direct their voices into the
mike.
In terms of the mike, I do have inputs for both dynamic and condensor mikes, if
that makes a difference.
This mike would be used in situations where the audience would be quiet listening
to the speaker and picking up background music wouldn't be a concern. It would be
nice if I could find a mike that could pick up sound in any direction of 6 - 8
inches of the mike (if this is even possible).
Thank you in advance for any advice!! It is so frustrating to see students
speaking at the podium and the audience not being able to hear them!!
