Elem: descriptive book idea

Hi Everyone!
 One of my goals this year is to coordinate more with the classroom
curriculum.  Last year, I read "Harvey Potter's Balloon Farm" to 3rd graders
to introduce their writing project on first person narrative.  I am looking
for some picture book ideas to use as a read aloud that will introduce a
descriptive writing project to 3rd graders.  I want a book to read that
specifically has detailed descriptions of a place, not necessarily a person.
