I too am a media specialist without an education background. When I did my lesson
plan I had my media specialist/supervisor review it. She told me what to change and
I did it. It worked out fine. I did my lesson plan for a science class in middle
school.
The best advice I can give you is to have your supervisor review your lesson plan.
You also might want to remind her that you are not a teacher and so might need a
little extra help. I also collaborated closely with the teacher whose class I was
planning. I asked her what she was teaching and came up with a plan. Also leave
yourself plenty of time to do the lesson plan if possible. In my case, it took two
tries to get the science teacher down to the media center so I could do the lesson
plan. She actually forgot!
It will be ackward at first but you'll get over it. Once you get into presenting
the lesson plan, your nervousness will fade. It did in my case.
Hope this Helps
