I have worked in 3 combined libraries -- grade 6 - 12 - and disliked each
one of them. I discovered that behavior expectations were widely different.
In 2 libraries there were 2 librarians which it even more difficult to
maintain one philosophy for work and behavior expectations. An advantage
would be the wide range of reading materials which suit lower and higher
achievers nicely. I also discovered that I had to constantly change
directions as to my behavior, vocabulary, etc. as I dealt with so many age
levels.
