GEN: Databases

I will be able to purchase at least 1 database next year...woohoo!!  I know
of a few databases, but would like some imput from the listserv.

What database(s) do you use? What are the pros & cons of the database(s)?
What is approximate cost of the databases?

I am on a campus with 7th - 12th graders next year and will be 9th - 12th
the following years.  We are a fine arts academy focusing on the arts but
will have some basic core courses being offered.
