This will primarily be for those schools with church ties, but I wanted
to let them know of a display I did that got some interesting reactions.
For Black History Month I chose to highlight some of the more
traditional people and started to put together a display on my small
bulletin board near my display shelf where I put the books that ago with
the display. But then got the idea that others also did a lot and were
never really recognized. So I did a search on Black saints and came up
with quite a list. I chose a number of these, found pictures of them
similar in style and short bio's. These I mounted on different colored
construction paper and covered a large bulletin board, filling in with
plain colors to somewhat resemble a crazy quilt. Very effective. Lots of
comments.
I saved them, ( of course) and next year will do a similar one for
Women's History Month - I don't like to follow the same format as the
display gets a little stale and no one really notices it.
