Author photos for display

Greetings everyone,

I am preparing for my first year as a media specialist and would like to
create an Author of the Month display. It would be great to include a photo of the
author, but I am a little fuzzy on fair use rules with regard to such a
display.  Would it be legal for me to find a photo online and print it?  Do I need
to request a photo from the publisher?

I would be grateful for any advice you can share; I have searched the
archives and do not see this question addressed.
