Laurie Halse Anderson's Speak

There's a bit of discomfort on our campus about having asked Laurie Halse Anderson 
to come work with our 8th graders in writing workshops and to talk with them about 
her book Speak. As it turns out, her visit has been canceled, but the issue is not 
resolved. Is anyone out there using the book with 8's? Has anyone had her visit and 
talk about it?  I am on No-Mail, so please answer directly to me. Thanks
