Hello Everyone,
You have all been so helpful with advice and support as I work my way
through my first year as an elementary LMS. Once again I ‘m looking for
some input. I have been working with the 3rd and 4th graders on navigating
the library using our Winnebago OPAC program. They have become quite
proficient looking up titles, authors, and subjects and then browsing or
searching for results. What they don’t seem to have a firm grasp of is the
concept of a “ keyword. “ Does anyone have any lessons they’ve used
successfully to teach how to come up with a keyword to broaden or narrow
searches? I do have a laptop with an LCD projector so that I can project
the Winnebago catalogue on a screen for the whole class to see.
Thanks for any suggestions you might have.
