I am working with a student teacher who is planning to teach The Grapes of
Wrath. If you have any websites you would recommend for researching the
Great Depression please send them to me for an 11th grade English
research unit. I have the beginnings of a list, but can always use
suggestions. I'll post a hit when completed.

Students have the choice of one of these small group assignments:
(If you have an assignment to share, please feel free to suggest it, too.
 I'll pass it on.)

1. Show how the Crash of 1929 changed the lives of Americans in three
different social classes.
2. Write a diary of a family (2 parents 2 children) living during the
1930s. Each family member should be represented in the diary.
3. Create a news documentary describing how the Depression impacts
different areas of the US.
4. You are a group of politicians trying to provide the country with
relief during economic and social hard times. Research legislation that
was passed in the 1930s and deliver a"State of the Union Address to the
country.

TIA
