Hello lmnetters,
I've been asked to make a short presentation at an upcoming student assembly.
Although I've not attended one yet this year, I'm told they're trying to have a bit
of a theme per assembly, this one being awareness of the power of language. Really
what the administration is after is someting creative and thought-provoking to curb
the continual foul-mouthedness that permeates the halls, even though in-class
language tends to be more proper.
The only poem I've thought of is Maya Angelou's "I Love the Look of Words" but past
that I keep coming up with ones about the power of words in Reading but not about
Speaking. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
