The original TARGET question was: Where, in writing, does your district set
forth how much, if any fines should be charged for overdue books, what lost
book charges are etc?
With 6 replies at this point, 4 indicated that this is written in the
student handbook/planner etc. One said that in her district it was up to
the individual school, and she sends a letter home. One indicated that in
the past she'd had a superintendent that said it was illegal to charge
fines for lost library books because we provide a "free education".
If there are other situations, I will post a second hit.
