We have a problem that I hope someone can help me with. When the
library was automated 7 (?) years ago the school didn’t have very many
computers, and the librarian chose Athena, a pc-based system. Fast
forward…we are now a laptop mac-based school, so whenever there is a
problem, no one knows WHAT to do with the one lone pc that has the
online card catalog on it.
This is becoming more and more of a problem with age, so here are my
questions, as I am beginning to research the best way to deal with this
dilemma:
1. Are there any mac-based online card catalogs (that people are happy
with)?
2. If so, is it possible to migrate without re-barcoding?
Many thanks for any help you can give me. I will post a hit if there
is any interest.
