1. You have to make sure that the laptops
get charged up at the end of the day. They
don't stay charged all day so you may want
to charge them up during your lunch time.
2. Students really need to be taught how to
handle the laptops - they have to be very
gentle with them because the keys come off
much more easily than on a desktop.
3. Although I worked at an at-risk school and a
school in a privileged neighborhood, students
were not the ones that stole the laptops. They
were actually stolen when students had the day
off and only the faculty was at work. So when you
are thinking about securing the laptops keep this
in mind too.
4. Don't stack more than 3 laptops on top of one
another because you can crack the screen.
5. If students are using the laptops without a
mouse, tell them they only need to use one finger
and make sure the touch pad is clean. Students will
say that their laptop is broken because they are using
3-4 fingers, or two hands!!
Good luck!!
