You really can't make any arbitrary choices about when/how she works without
clearing it with the principal first. It's very possible that those copy-room
duties were assigned to her for administrative reasons you do not (yet) know
anything about, so don't get off on a bad foot with the entire staff without solid
knowledge of the entire situation.
You need to discuss the aide's schedule with the principal before you do anything !
