I have been following the thread of library statistics with some =
interest. Just last week my superintendent informed me that next year he =
will cut out my aide, which means that I (already the lone K-12 SLMS for =
a 2-school, 2-LMC district)
will have a DOUBLED workload. It already feels doubled, as I serve 2 =
schools. The aide is always at the school I am not, but at least both =
LMCs are open and staffed at all times this year.=20
Next year, the aide will be cut out, and the libraries will be closed on =
alternating days. Either this, or I will have to split my day 50/50 and =
drive between schools, but either way -- library will be closed HALF the =
time.
I'm thinking that the time to do something preventative is NOW. What =
about reports for principals to take to board meetings? How many of you =
do that, and do you have a form you follow? And, may I add that I have a =
master's degree in library and information science and am a really, =
really good LMS? This is UNFAIR. I'm working SO hard to do so much with =
so little -- and now he wants to cut what I do have in HALF?????????????
Thank you!
