I have checked the archives on this subject and found several queries but no
responses. Hopefully, this one will work some magic.
Our high school is considering instituting a schoolwide reading program, with
all students reading (independently and/or corporately) the same novel.
Our students' reading level is across-the-board but skewed to the lower end
for high school. The ideal book choice would probably be "hip" without too
much racy language, although a classic could be chosen. Promoting character
growth would be a plus.
We hope to schedule several activities to promote this and build upon it.
Have any of your schools tried such a project? If so, any suggestions for a
suitable novel or ideas for implementation will be gratefully received.
