I have a teacher who is looking for books (or guides) that deal with how we
speak and enunciate our words. Her example to me was:

"I did not say YOU stole my book." or "I did not say you STOLE my book."
or "I did not say you stole MY book."

We have decided that Amelia Bedelia's books are too literal and that we are
looking for books that reflect the way words are spoken and how they are
perceived by the listener.

These books would be for students in grades 3-4. If you can think of any
suggestions, I would be grateful.

(Yes, I'm in the upper school library...but this teacher thinks I know
children's literature too...but I'm not thinking right now and I truly have
not done a search. I was hoping that the elementary librarians have run
across something I've not seen --or can remember a book that I can't!)

Thanks!
