If your school has taken the time to make writing a priority, that would
be a great time to rotate students through keyboarding instruction. If 3
kids do it for 15-20 minutes, you should be able to get 2 sets of kids
practicing each day. That would be 30 kids per week. Every student in
the class would then get keyboarding instruction/practice one time per
week -- with 3-5 computers, that doesn't seem too bad.

Subject: Target: Can keyboarding be taught in a classroom w/only 3-5
computers?

Our school no longer has a computer lab, and efforts are being made to
place computers in the individual classrooms. We would like to teach
our students keyboarding, but will only have 3-4 computers in each
classroom. In your school's experience, is it feasible to teach
a class basic keyboarding with so few computers? Have your teachers
been able to successfully juggle students' alternating between
keyboarding programs and other activities? (I know the ideal solution
would be to purchase a class set of the keyboard/small screen combos
for teachers to share among their classes , but that is not possible
now. However, your recommendations on those would also be appreciated.)
