HIT: lettering, signage

Here is a "hit" on the lettering question.  Our library is looking to
purchase lettering for signage in our library approximately 12" tall (for
the capital letter) and are looking at a cost of less than $17.00 per
letter. I found that through a local sign shop, the cost is much less than
the $17.00 we saw in catalogs and the variety is greater.  My sign guy is
at Signs and Specialities (800) 330-3290 and Rich said he can help anyone
nationwide.
other ideas:

Highsmith offers both letters and numbers
Cutting letters from cardboard and using a patterened fabric to cover
them.  Then glue to the wall.
Having the district's sign shop make vinyl/plastic lettering which are
self adhesive.
Online: Polyplastic Forms, Inc.  www.PolyplasticForms.com  Letters were
11.88 each for my quote.
