Since you now have the shelf space, intershelve them and then use the tops
of the shelving to display selected authors, genres, etc. This is a great
space to use to introduce different authors and themes.

Subject: Target: Shelving philosophy

Hello Everyone,

I am two months into my new job as a LMS and have just received two new book
shelves in my library. As a result, a major reshelving effort is underway.
The previous librarian separated out certain authors in the Easy section and
shelved them separately on top of the low shelving. Consequently, Dr.
Seuss, Clifford, Madeline, Berenstain Bears etc. books are not shelved in
with the rest of the Easy fiction but are easy to find on top of the stacks.
Since I now have enough shelving to hold everything in the collection I am
wondering if I should reshelve these books in with the rest of the fiction.
Please let me know what works best for the K-2 crowd.
