That would be great if the video covered those aspects, or one used =
snippets
from a selection. But it would be a pretty big stretch if it were =
something
like _Mighty Mouse meets Frankenstein_ and was running for 70+ minutes
towards the end of the day.....

Since the video has to do with a holiday and since study of holidays =
and
other customs are part of the Social Studies - and the Language Arts
(folktales, myths, etc.)....it should be OK - they just have to note =
that it
and the celebration are part of the curriculum - takes care of the =
standard:
learning about and appreciation of culure and social customs and the
assessment is how well they are enjoying the activity and how well they
undersstand the meaning of the customs.

A very wise teacher once told me that any moment can be a teaching =
moment -
you just have to figure out what standard is being covered.

Halloween-related videos to their classes on Halloween as part of a
party/celebration? Videos are supposed to be related to what the class =
is
studying and not just for entertainment. But what about on a holiday? =
Can
holiday-related videos ever be shown? Or must I tell my teachers they =
can't
show them (and be a party-pooper)? You can contact me off-list. =
Thanks!
