Several of you asked for a HIT regarding my query about Holes' rating from Disney
Educational. I never heard fro the local rep- this was one response from an
LM_NETTER...:
>> I saw your posting on the listserv about the rating of "Holes" from Disney
>Educational Productions. I know for a fact that even though Disney Educational
>Productions does not have ratings for their programs, the video could either be
>edited for running time restrictions or not edited at all. I spoke to my
>representative and she told me that their version of "Holes" has not been edited.
>She also said that some of there videos are edited (but not "Holes") but usually
>they are edited because of length. She said that teacher's don't always want to
>show the full feature length version of certain programs (ie. "Incredible
>Journey") so they edited the movie down to a classroom length. She said that
>since their programs do not have ratings, they do not edit based on content. She
>also told me that the reason why the movie "Holes" received a PG rating in the
>movie theaters is because of mild violence, mild language, and some thematic
>elements. I hope this helps you out. >>>
