Oh wise ones....
Today we read and enjoyed the autographed copy of Epposamundas that I got
at ALA. I told the students that this was a traditional tale with many
versions but could only come up with Hans in Luck as an example. I
searched the archives under noodle tales and jack tales and didn't come up
with anything. Similar searches on Google didn't help.
I know there are other stories like Epposamundas out there. The only one
I can think of is Hans in Luck. Can anybody else add some other titles
that have a similar pattern--something is being carried home in an
inappropriate fashion, the person is given instructions for how to carry
that item and applies these instructions inappropriately to a different
item with comic results.
The Schwartz books, Carrot in your Ear and another title that I forget,
are not really what I'm looking for--nor are Amelia Bedelia and The
Stupids.
