I just received a beautiful invitation to the Bharatha Natyam Arangetram of
a student from my school (and who spent a little extra time with me in the
library last year talking about her experiences with coming to America and
being lost in two cultures--- her own and the U.S.). She is somewhat of a
"loner" but someone whom I believe is very beautiful, intelligent and
talented...and since this was my first year at the school, I am extremely
honored to receive this invitation to this special day!
I would love to attend this event but I wanted to know if anyone could give
me some information about etiquette during this special time? Primarily are
there certain things I need to do or not do? Should I bring a gift?
Also, if anyone can give me the correct pronunciation of this event, I would
appreciate it. I'm sure that I'm not saying it correctly (I can barely
pronounce my student's last name!) *g*
(You may respond to me personally!)
Thanks for your insights!
