Hi all -
Did anyone else see the story about a MAC users' conference cruise on last
Sunday's CBS Sunday Morning show? It looked like great fun as well as a
great source for support and inspiration.
If some of us were able to tempt a few administrators and/or board members
to come along, it might be a great way to educate them on the importance of
libraries. I think it would be much easier to get administrators to sign
up for a cruise than to use their conference time for a regular library
conference. Would anyone have objections to including non-librarians?
And while I would love to go on an Alaska cruise, I think a cheaper cruise
would allow more people (myself included) to join in. While a Caribbean
cruise would be cheaper for many of us in the States, a Hawaii/South
Pacific cruise (like the MAC cruise on the CBS show) might be cheaper for
many of our International members than a Caribbean cruise.
Just some thoughts.
