Naming LMC Computer Stations

Here is an idea that is working well for our LMC:

I wanted to name each computer station rather than just number them.  I
conducted a vote among our 1350 students and 120 staff members to select
a category: Authors, Animals, State History, and Local History.
The local history category won.  I collaborated with the State history
teacher and an art teacher to complete the project. The history classes
chose 40 names and prioritized them (names of historical sites, people,
animals in the area, etc.).  Each art student from certain art classes,
after researching their assigned subject, is designing and producing a
thematic collage to fit around the sides and top of his/her already
named computer.

The ones we have received so far are very colorful and unique.  It has
been a great collaboration effort and is resulting in student pride of
the computers in the Library Media Center as well as positively
contributing to the aesthetics of the whole place!!
